A Little Information
- Vector graphics are created using mathematical equations as opposed to pixels which are basically tiny squares, each of which is assigned a specific colour.
- Vector images therefore can be increased or decreased in size without changing in quality.
- A vector image will be as sharp and clear at 100% zoom as it is at 4500% zoom.
- Typical photos and images ( JPEG, PNG, TIF, BMP) are made of pixels ( tiny squares of colour) so therefore when the image is enlarged each pixel becomes bigger, and this is what causes what is commonly known as “pixelation”

Pantone (PMS) Colours
Pantone is a colour palette containing unique and individually numbered colours that were designed to help specify colours for printing projects.
Pantone is sometimes referred to as PMS (Pantone Matching System), and can also sometimes be referred to as “Spot Colours”.
Your basic office or home printer will typically print using a mixture of 4 different colours. Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black referred to as CMYK). The K stands for Key, and there are many theories as to why this is so, for example so as to not confuse “Black” with “Blue” or because K is the last letter in blacK.
A special aspect of Pantone is that metallic and fluorescents are available, as these cannot be reproduced with CMYK process colour printing.
It should be noted that most Pantone colours cannot not be reproduced in CMYK.
For your reference, we do have an online swatch book on our website which you can view.
However, please note THIS IS A GUIDE ONLY. Colours WILL view differently on your screen than when printed on stock or material.
For accurate colour representation, it is best to consult a Pantone swatch book.
If you don’t have access to one, we will assist you to come up with a solution to meet your needs.
